So, I survived the freak Christmas Day tornado, and my car made it through as well!
For those who weren't aware, certain parts of Melbourne got hit by a surprise storm just after lunch on Christmas. Where I was - my aunt's house - got whacked so badly, as did my home. Whilst my aunt's house got completely trashed by hail stones the size of golf balls and torrential rain, my own house was luckily not quite as bad off. As soon as the hail started coming down, I ran out to my car to drive it under shelter, and it came through without a scratch - can't say the same for my cousin's car, though, nor the car that one of my uncles bought for his wife for Christmas.
I've heard of heaps of peoples' cars being written off, and my aunt's hairdressing salon completely flooded and ruined all the photo frames she kept stacked on the floor to sell online. Not to mention her entire gravel driveway got washed into her pool. Ah well, my house pulled through alright.
On a happier note, I got my first Honours in dancing! I also ordered two pairs of dancing shoes for myself online (technically from my parents) but they haven't arrived yet. I'm so excited about them, though; they're gorgeous.

...I really don't have anything interesting to tell you guys. Almost finished my first year at uni. Bought a flute and learnt how to play it. I've turned 19 since my last journal. Started going out more with my friends... it's good fun :) Except for Thursday night, where I drove my friend to a club in the city, and when asked for her ID she realised she'd taken her Flybuys card by mistake... still, it was funny. For me, at least.

OK, so... what's new?
Well, uni's back in session, and I spent most of my winter break tucked up in bed with whooping cough and pneumonia. Sucks, eh?
At the moment, I'm right as rain, so it's all good. The stupid whooping cough caused a lot of problems - I missed two weeks of work, and then got a bunch of calls from Health Services to make sure that I didn't go to work, as I work in a creche (with babies who aren't immunised yet).
At the moment, my current phase is "The Wild Thornberrys". I want a chimpanzee best friend that I can talk to. Yesterday I found the episode where Nigel makes that "blaarrgghhgh" sound that has somehow become

Alright, so I've recently gone back into my Danny Phantom phase and I've been watching it non-stop and sketching tons of characters in Butch Hartman style. Man, that show is SO QUALITY!
